2011

Decided since no one reads this, I wanted to fill out one of those corny end of the year surveys. So here we go:

What did you do in 2011 that you’d never done before? Moved out of my house

Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year? No and no.

Did anyone close to you give birth? No.

Did anyone close to you die? No.

What countries did you visit? England & Scotland. One of the greatest experiences I will ever have. I am very grateful

What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011? Closeness. I'd like to have more closer friends, less acquaintances, more family.

What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory? The anniversary of the day we met & June 14.

What was your biggest achievement of the year? Getting a promotion.

What was your biggest failure? Myself, up until recently. Definitely been making some improvements.

Did you suffer illness or injury? Nothing serious.

What was the best thing you bought? iPhone!

Where did most of your money go? Rent, food, clothes, booze, vacation.

What did you get really, really, really excited about? My vacation with Scott.

What song will always remind you of 2011? "England" - The National. "Masterplan" - Maria Taylor. "Bedouin Dress" - Fleet Foxes.

Compared to this time last year, are you:
Happier or sadder? Sadder
Thinner or fatter? Same
Richer or poorer? Richer
What do you wish you’d done more of? Taking chances.
What do you wish you’d done less of? Being irrational.

How will you be spending Christmas? I spent it with my family and afterwards with Laura's family

Did you fall in love in 2011? I stayed in love in 2011, and still continue to.

How many one-night stands? 0

Who were your best friends? Scott, Abby, Marissa, Jess, Alyssa, Jill.

What thing did you do that was meaningful to others? I have no idea. I tried to be as giving as possible. I always try.

What was your favorite TV program? Six Feet Under repeats. Dexter. Parenthood.

Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year? No. I don't hate anyone.

What was the best book you read? Kafka on the Shore.

What was your greatest musical discovery? Black Wine

What did you want and get? Sharing an apartment with the person I love.

What did you want and not get? To sustain my relationship. A new job.

What was your favorite film of this year? Blue Valentine

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I'd rather not remember it, 26.

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? A different, less stressful & more enjoyable job.

What kept you sane? Nothing.

Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Don't wanna be cliche, but Ryan Gosling. I mean, duh.

Who did you miss? A lot of people, but mostly Jill.

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2011: Be as open, kind, supporting & loving as possible. Don't let petty bullshit or jealousy take you over. Be independent, positive, confident and more importantly, be yourself.

Quote that sums up your year: “Don't feel sorry for yourself. Only assholes do that.”

first post

i started this blog for two reasons.
1. i've been lacking a place where i can write my thoughts, my rants, my everything.
2. i'm on a mission to set some goals, long term & short term, personal, career, and friendship/relationship goals. i'll post everything i want to accomplish, learn, feel, and one by one, cross each one off my list. no time frame, no restrictions, none of that. these are just simple things that I want to do in order to help me feel happier, break habits, and learn something new.

i hope this works.
